Atlanta 2025 Recap
Our 2025 theme did not let us down.
“Good Times With the Cato’s. Oh How Sweet it is”
Our week started off with wonderful gathering of the early birds at top golf. We laughed, hugged, ate and enjoyed the company of one another. Old relationships were sustained and new relationships were formed.
Our family came by plane, bus and car to be a part of the good times. The hotel selection did not disappoint us. Our family gathered at the pool to reminisce and talk about the good times. Many enjoyed the happy hour. Meeting in the morning for our private breakfast was extraordinary. The Happy Hour was an added bonus. Many took advantage of the free shuttle to enjoy the shopping experience of Atlanta, Georgia and surrounding areas.
The Honoree banquet was indeed spectacular and something we will never forget. The colors of peach and purple was mesmerizing to our eyes as every family member came dressed to impress. The food selection once again was tasty and enjoyable.
The picnic and water park was absolutely amazing. We filled the largest pavilion with fun, love and laughter. Our Educational and Burial Fund Committee did a wonderful job recruiting and informing our family of what they have to offer at the picnic. The food was abundant and prepared by our very own family members. The meet and greet at Giovanni house was something to remember. We had delicious food and the hospitality was second to none. The good times was roaring. We partied and ate and enjoyed each other. We had every branch represented and that was a feat few reunions have accomplished. Every branch from Kansas to Cleveland to Texas and everything in between basked in the glory of family.
The 2025 reunion did not disappoint. We had an experience and memorable week filled with fun activities. We even had a Pajama Party also. . We ate, played games, and loved on each other. The fun filled laughs filled the hotel corridor. We had every all age groups represented. The babies, youth, teens, young adults and our older generation had a good with the Cato’s.
The fun was over after the Pajama Party. We attended a worship service together at the church of our very own Nelma Henry. We stood tall and proud as we took up almost 1/4 of the sanctuary. We clapped, prayed and worshipped as a family. The day was over. We headed to visit Lula White’s gravesite. We were led in prayer by Nelma Henry and given a brief historical breakdown of Lula White. The good times could be felt at the gravesite as we held hands and embraced each other as a sign of forever lasting love.
The fun wasn’t over. We had to say goodbye bye and we did just that at a farewell luncheon. We had standing room only as we ate and lavished in each other’s company for one final time until 2026. Parting was so hard. We lingered around having endless conversations with one another. Saying goodbye was hard. We wasn’t ready to part. We wanted the good times to keep going. The end of the reunion was bittersweet. The goodbyes started flowing. The numbers started to wane. The conversations and voices began to lower and disappear. We staggered out one by one. The planes were loading. The bus was idling and the cars were in a slow paced line heading home. The good times was over. It was indeed sweet to gather, but hard to depart.
2025 is in the books. Good Times With the Cato’s. How Sweet it is.
